Spare Wheel Carrier Assembly

Hi Peeps,
I have bought a Spare Wheel carrier assembly and just need some guidance on how to support the bendy arm end to the chassis floor. My van has never had one fitted which seems daft but there you have it. I know how to fit the winding up bit to the rear even though i have to drill out the floor (you can see where it could be if fitted when built) But it seems somethings missing where the floating end attaches to the floor underneath . A picture would help in a big way or if there is another part I need steer me in that direction. Appreciate your guidance.

Okay the power of Ytube and all is revealed so apologies for the post, but there is a lot to do just to fit this standard unit if there was nothing there before. If I have solved it I will post a report.

if its anything like mine on the connect, there was a triangular bracket with it ...that bolts on and lets the cable hang from a position that is central to the wheel, it guides the cable down through a tube that is welded to the bracket.

this may be still bolted to your van

and there should also be another cable that acts as a safety strap

Having said all that, the parts diagram, if ive found the right one for mk8, does not show all those bits that are common to mine . so from the look of it, i may be wrong, you have all parts.

I’ve fitted a spare wheel carrier to my Motorhome. The fitting for the cable wasn’t in the chassis on mine so I made one out of 3mm steel.
As mentioned you also need the safety cable as well.
