Ford transit custom 64 plate won’t start

Hello I have a Ford transit custom that I have an issue with. The problem is it won’t start, I was driving down the motorway and I lost power, pull over to the hard shoulder the van was still ticking over I went to try and pull off again and it cut out. When I tried to turn it over again it wouldn’t start, won’t even turn over. I took it to a garage and they’ve said it was an electrical issue and have told me to take it to Ford which I don’t really want to do for obvious reasons, have got an auto electrical coming out so hopefully they will find the issue before it has to go to Ford, my question is has any one else had this issue and what was the problem? I know it could be a few things but just wondering
