No turbo boost

Postby Dreamer24 » Wed Oct 06, 2021 6:50 pm

Hi guys, could really do with some help. We have a transit custom 67 reg 2l
The timing belt broke so we had a new engine fitted.
Since having it fitted, we have turbo boost only when the engine is cold, as soon as it heats up it goes, lorries are passing me on the motorway!
Changed the egr, cleaned the dpf, changed the air mass filter.
No warnings on the dash.
When the engine is running it doesn’t sound right, been told maybe they didn’t programme the injectors when they changed the engine.
Does this sound familiar to anyone and what do you recommend us trying next??
Help would be greatly appreciated
Thankyou

Are the vacuum pipes connected correctly on the turbo and EGR valve as if they are fitted the wrong way round you will lose turbo boost.

Narrowed it down to the actuator. Turning the engine on and off whilst driving the turbo
Kicks back in. Been told we need a new turbo as can’t change the actuator on its own. Does that sound right?
We checked the pipes was one of the first things we did.

Not sure about the euro 6, but you certainly can on the euro 5 so I'd suggest taking it elsewhere as they may be taking you for a bit of a ride there. Is this from a main dealer?

It was the Ford service centre that said we couldn’t change the actuator. I’ve looked online and have found them for euro5 but nothing for euro 6. It’s been a nightmare! I’ve spoken to a few garages and they won’t touch it saying they don’t like dealing with transit customs.
It seems a bit much to have to change the turbo when the turbo is working fine when it kicks in.
Going to have to do something soon though driving it like this can’t be doing it any good!

It may be worth speaking to Turbo solutions, they offer new, remanufactured and also repairs of your own turbo.
