Limted, Active or Sport

Postby Jamobailey » Mon Jan 17, 2022 11:34 pm

Hi guys, got a Limited work van and really enjoy it!

Needing to buy a DCIV for the family...

Keen on the idea of it looking better than my limited.

On one hand the sport looks good enough, but then I see others on the road with better looking front end splitters and lower skirts and think I want to go down that road!

Would it be fair to say that it would be a waste of money if I was to buy a sport and then be changing the kit? I like the look of the Q sport ones that ive...

I am going round in circles atm and need to be making a decision!

Cheers

If you're buying new you might be in for a long wait.

A very long wait, when I was in ford last year I was told they were not taking orders on transits, Kugas, fiestas, mondeos or focuses.

But if it was me I’d get a trail.

Ford paid someone a lot of money to design the Custom, they then did a decent job of dressing it up as the Sport, then some spotty youth thought he could improve on the design…..M Sport/Q Sport.

Agreed with Mike - on my second sport now and i ripped the stupid stripes off and its nice and stealthy now (in black)
Seeing some of these clone "sports" does make me smile, no arch extensions, narrow rear axle, basic and small dashboard screen but with some less than subtle mouldings of dubious fit and quality.
Each to their own and all that, but the OEM sport while not cheap, does hold its value very well and has a certain class about it (once you remove those utterly stupid liquorice allsort stripes off the front and rear)

Sport ordered in Magnetic Grey, L1H1 DCIV with tailgate.

The wait is now impending, been told August but also heard it could be next year!

I will also be taking the stripes off! Was told it couldn't be ordered without them nowadays!? It is a job you did yourself?

The more ive looked, the more ive gone off the icea of those.

Just going to add a subtle mini splitter under the Sport bumper if anything at all

correct you cant order without them sadly.
Took me an hour with a heat gun being careful on a warm day. most came off really easily some bits were a bit stubborn.
Get them off ASAP so less chance of paint fade and the decals sticking making the job harder.

Good advice!

Im a bit annoyed that the Sport is only available in a 170 and not 185 any more.
It was one of the reasons that swung it when deciding on the sport but when I came to order they said it wasn't available anymore? Have you an opinion on whether there is much difference?

Speak to Vantuner he should be able re-map it for you.

I have had a Dciv Custom Sport ordered since January last year and still no delivery date, I am hoping to still get the 185hp as ordered
