It could be that your battery is past its best, and the BCM is detecting a voltage drop.

Try opening a cargo door, with the engine running, and see what happens

Do you mean after the doors are all CLOSED? If so, you can turn the cargo lights to stay on using the controls on the cab headliner light.

If you mean after the doors are OPENED, then yeh, that's unusually short. Normally stay on for about 20 mins.

With rear side open or back doors open.. Lights only stay on 10 maybe 15 seconds , open the front door then the cargo lights stay on for ages.. Which is what I'm having to do, which in the rain is no good...

Sussed it ...
Side load door switch didn't work..
Fitted a new one so all is good... But now the bloody lights stays on for ages...so I pushed the door switch in...drilled a 1mm hole through the switch body and the depressed pin ..drop an R clip through hole, hepresto lights go out after 10 seconds ,remove r clip and they work as normal..
One word of warning , you don't get the warning the side door is open if ther clip is holding the switch closed....drove off spreading a box of fittings across building site I was on....

oops

I fitted a switch in the plastic surround of the rear cargo lights, so you can choose if they come on at all (they still work off the door opening, so you can't switch them on with the door closed), saved me further flat batteries when I was working on converting the van
