Postby veracken » Mon Aug 08, 2022 11:01 am

Hello Guys, quick question,i have a 66 plate transit custom and my mate has a 16 plate custom, both Trend models,my 66 plate van is Ulez compliant but my mates is not,my van does not take adblue, they both look identical under the bonnet so my question is what has been done to mine to make it Ulez compliant.
Many Thanks Gareth

I've just checked my son's old Connect which was a 16 plate, and that's not compliant, whereas my other son's 17 plate Edge is compliant. I assume that your 66 plate is a 2017?
I think maybe that the cut off point must be a certain registration (not build) date in 2016, or maybe even 1/1/17.
It's possibly the same situation that they created with the LEZ, in 2000, whereby some late registered Mk5's were compliant, but not their slightly older brothers, which were all euro2 and exactly the same emissions-wise

1997 Mk5 SWB 115 Minibus 70ps Di (Gone, but not forgotten!)

2008 Mk7 SWB T280 Medium Roof 85PS 2.2 TDCi - Also Vantunered

Many thanks for that, seems to make a bit of a mockery of the whole Ulez system then,i was told you have to be Euro 6 to be compliant.looks like im Euro 5 then, cant see why my Euro 5 would be any different to a say 2014 Custom Euro 5.

It's the 2 Litre engine that is Euro6 compliant, are both your engines the 2 litre, or are they the older 2.2?

In that case, I would say that you've beaten the system with a late registered Euro 5 engine :D
