2019 2.0ltr transit custom fluctuation

Postby mchris93 » Wed Mar 08, 2023 5:20 pm

Hi guys, I have recently joined this page for hopefully some guidance/help on I believe to be an issue with my vehicle.
Firstly, I have plugged in a scan tool and I am getting no fault codes. However, sometimes my vehicle has irratic idle and sounds like it’s about to stall. Upon driving the vehicle and coming to some traffic lights, I drop it in neutral and my revs will sometimes stick for a few seconds on the way down to normal tick over? Also, it fluctuates in idle mode between 500-1000revs especially when the fan is running and sounds like it’s about to stall. My scan tool is also reading the TP to be at 100% whilst in idle mode and just ticking over but when I apply the accelerator pedal this will decrease, is that normal? I tried to attach a video of the fluctuation but wouldn’t let me. Some photos attached of my scan tool readings after a short drive. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Any more info you might let me know. Cheers

It's not something as simple as a faulty throttle pedal ........ is it?

I’m not sure. the video I’ve attached is my exact vehicle with the issue. Does the photos I’ve attached on my scan tool identify any issues? If I’ve been driving for a few miles then it’s starts to do that fluctuation. Sounds like it’s about to stall. It’s really annoying and something definitely not right

My 2016 130ps sometimes does that. I've not had a problem regarding that issue and don't think it's going to to be a problem. I've had my fair share of problems with my van which have all be rectified and that little issue keeps coming back every now and then. I'd wait until the van gets a real problem before trying to get to the bottom of it. I'll stick my neck out and say that it's normal.

I see! Just seems ever so weird to be normal! No codes in the ecu still. It’s only a 2019 plate and just hit 41,000 miles. Any other people’s opinions/suggestions on it?

I had that on a hire vehicle two weeks ago! I thought how strange. It was almost like that was its natural idle!
