2.0 cam belt change - part numbers

Postby Zeus20 » Mon May 29, 2023 3:36 pm

Hi all,

Midway through a cam belt (timing belt) change on my 2016 Bus. I am using a kit from TPUK which looks OK but does not include a new sump (2011593), or crankshaft bolt (2011524). I have sourced these from Ford direct (via eBay) as well as the two new Auxiliary drive belts. Main (2361304) and stretch belt for the water pump (2018353). I hope I've got all those part number correct!

The Haynes manual also says the large nut/bolt retaining the centre of the timing cover should also be replaced as a matter of course. This part is a hollow bolt that has, what looks like, a bleed screw plugging the hole.
1. Anyone know the part number for this?
2. What is it for? why a bleed screw and should I bleed it!
3. Why should it be renewed as a matter of course? what's wrong with re-using it?

Thanks for reading

Just for completeness, those part numbers are correct for my engine.

Did you find the answers to your 3 questions? Is your engine running OK now?

Not a lot of people have done this, so all information is useful :)

No Altransit, i did not. It remains a mystery.
I re used the old parts but put a smear of sealant on the threads in case there was a need to seal against fluid leakage.

If anyone else can shed any light on this special nut/bolt, please do!
