Switching on rear speakers in crew cab.

Postby Sg_frost » Sun Jul 11, 2021 12:10 am

L2H1 crewcab with only front speakers.66 plate registered in May 2017.
I have searched this forum and found some info, but no definitive answers. I have wired the rear speakers in, the wires are in the rear panel on the drivers side, and only to the A-pillar on the passenger side. I have forscan and there is a video on YouTube showing how to change the bcm number of speakers except the options shown on mine are completely different.
There is a link to a guy who has changed the settings on a F150 in the states, but that doesn’t work either. Main dealer say it can’t be done, but why would it have the wiring for it?

Anyone point me in the right direction please? I do t want to link them into the fronts, I want front/rear fade option to work.

Thank you

Not sure about the later vans, but on the Mk7, the wiring from the radio is not always there.

When the speakers are fully wired up, I believe that the rear speakers should work as is, but the front/rear fader only works after enabling it with Forscan or IDS. (Again this is Mk7 info)

Wires are all there, checked them back to the head unit. I have forscan but can’t find anywhere to turn them on.

Using Forscan I have activated my rear speakers and fade function despite being told it was impossible.

This line to be edited in the FCDIM to enable FADE on the stereo.
Changed 7A5-01-01 from 0025 082C 9097  to 0025 002C 908F

This line to be edited in the ACM to turn on rear speakers.
Changed 727-01-01  0102 0201 0137  to  0302 0204 013C

The only thing I would say, it now comes up with a fault code for antenna 2 open circuit. From what I have found, that is the aerial for the gps missing, I dont have satnav so no big deal to me.

The drivers rear speaker wires are already installed in the rear just in front of the wheel arch. There are two plugs, one has two wires, the other has four. The two wires is for the tweeter. The four wire plug has the speaker wires on the outside, the two inner ones go to the afore mentioned tweeter.

The passenger wires only go as far as the A pillar to a large multiplug. I have run speaker wires from there

You will need to remove the passenger cup holder, that end panel and the glove box. You will then see this connector up against the front bulkhead.

Hello
Same question, how to turn rear speakers ON or where to apply rear speaker wires?

I am building 2023 Ford E-Transit. It is electrical van. There is no extra wires inside rear door or in front of rear wheel arches. So wires has to come from front dashboard.

It has SYNC 4 large middle touch screen, where sound setting options are (SW:21346):
1. trable 2. mid-range 3. bass 4. balance [left to right] and thats it.

Our country local Ford dealership can't say anything about this matter, because they don't know. They specialize on cars, not vans.

Hi,
what SYNC version do you have? I have a Transit Custom 2016 double cab and using Forscan I cannot find those codes actually. I have a Sync.
thanks
