The dpf tubes get blocked with carbon, this causes constant regens. Check your tubes aren’t blocked, also the pressure sensor is a common issue. It doesn’t throw fault codes when it happens either, folks just notice the constant regens and high fuel consumption.

I just changed my thermostat too because the engine was only getting to around 82°. Now it sits at 88°C +/-3. Not a huge difference but I prefer it to be correct.
It was a new thermostat before though, just not a genuine part. Had to fork up 78€ at the dealer... for only the thermostat.

Thanks for your advice, I uninstalled my thermostat and tested it, and it is opening around 70°C, so way to early. I'll need to get another one. Crazy that they are selling faulty thermostat, it is so easy to test, they could do it when they manufacture them to make sure they work properly!
