2019 Transit 340 Electrical Issues - Fuel Gauge

Postby Cgoff101 » Wed Nov 12, 2025 4:35 pm

Hi All,

Seeking advice and ideas to solve an ongoing problem. Van has been going fine for 3months and now has a fuel gauge issue. This is that the fuel guage will initially register fuel then intermitently just slowly drop to nothing.

Remedial work that has been completed:
- Fuel Filter changed
- Battery replaced (2 batteries, 1 was 6years old)
- Fuel Sender Changed
- Fuses and relays checked
- all looms checked and cleaned (no corrosion visible)
- Alternator replacee (some play in pulley)
- checked wiring as muxh as possible for nicks or breaks.

It is so weird and am at my wits end with it.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Tried 2-3 garages and still not at a final solution. The replacement kf the alternator meant it ran fine for 4days then problem reoccured.
