Forscan will describe the value .. what it should be and what it is .. you'll be bringing the boxes up .. standard setting has a load of boxes that may not be needed, you can swap and change them. they are called PIDS
First you have to populate forscan with the items you want to observe - then put it into "live data" mode - plenty of youtube videos on how to do that.
Then you are looking at the some values in percent ... "commanded" is what the system is asking it to do
"Actual"is what it's doing.
The DPF will be in percent soot loading
The EGR- one of the things likely to cause trouble - fault finding -You are looking for the EGR being open when it should not be open.
Anything more than brisk acceleration and EGR should be closed.
EGR only closes on acceleration .. it opens at cruise and fixed rpm.
Nox - it will say something like nox below threshold if at fault, think nox is all to do with, if the adblue system is doing its stuff.
