2014 Transit Custom 2.2 injector coding

Postby Peen » Thu Jul 02, 2026 10:45 pm

Hi, Sorry if this has been covered before but im struggling to find a definitive answer. Im not new to working on engines but diesels and 4 wheels arent really my thing.

Ive had to replace an injector on my 2014 custom as it was leaking badly out of the plastic on the top. The new one went in fine and it started up easily and seems to run ok, been up and down the road and goes as well as it did before but I understand that new injectors should really be coded to the ecu to run properly. Ive called a few garages, 2 said they dont need coding and one said that only ford can code them.

Can anyone tell me what really needs doing and the best way of going about it? Id have hoped a decent garage would have the correct software to code them in?

Thanks
Peen

Don't need coding due to the van having a Siemens system.
