Switched 12V supply for reverse cameras

Postby John Ross » Tue Aug 25, 2026 4:20 pm

Hello

Is there a convenient way to pick up the 12V switched feed for the reverse camera on the breakout harness as it must exist on one of the pins of the multi plug ?

Alternatively where is the best place at the rear door pillars to pick this up ?

I assume the camera requires switched 12V and not constant supply.

Any help appreciated

John

Mine is connected to, and is triggered by the N/S reversing lamp bulb.

So the camera is on whenever your lights are on?

Yes. And no. It needs power and a trigger. The power is the numberplate light and the trigger is the reverse light

Oh OK, different to mine which is both powered and triggered by the power from the reversing light bulb :)
