Can anyone tell me where this plug goes on 2.0?

Can anyone help me and tell me where this plug goes? It’s near identical to the one on the thermostat. It doesn’t reach far but I just can’t see anywhere for it to go. Maybe it goes behind egr?

The early thermostat(3mounting bolts) has 2 connectors
One for a temp sensor 2 wire,
Another for the electrically operated part of thermostat (3 wire I think)
Revised stat only has 2 mounting bolts and no electrically operating feature so the 3 wire connector isn’t used.
