Free satnav is rubbish where I am with a patchy signal, when I last looked there were no good offline ones. No great problem as I bought copilot Europe for my phone for £20

Fair enough.

By the way, have you tried Waze? I only ask because I have used it throughout Britain, France and Germany including in lots of remote mountainous areas. It has been more reliable than my TomTom, especially for up to date traffic info. I have used it for two years and still cannot get over the fact of how good it is, and all for free.

I read up on it but saw it was touch and go if it would work so decided it wasn't worth the bother to save 20 quid.

Ditto. I left TomTom after another card and software update leaving me with a bricked 1005 machine.
It amazed me how accurate it was at that time. New street situations are implemented the very instant the new road/crossing opens.
In my van I used the satnav maybe ten times. On two occasions the situation was changed and in five I couldn't get any further because I ended up at the beginning of a cycle path.

Bumping this thread.

Can you order this from factory now?

I have it in the options-list on fords website (in Sweden) but the dealer had a hard time "ordering it".

I'm putting the info in this thread to;

Just got it confirmed from the dealer (in Sweden).

The automatic aircon is only available from factory together with the satnav as a package.

I have been toying with the idea of getting one of these to fit myself as i see they are now available to buy in the UK. :D
Was it hard to install :?: ive seen all the install instructions. looks straight forward and there are a few pics on this subject of where you need to cut out the dash. bit worried about that bit :?
are you happy you did install it :?:

Have you had a price for the uk kit.? Would like one in mine and would have a go at fitting it if it doesn't need to go on the computer to set up.I got a £50 voucher from ford customer services for the mess up over the fuel tank so could put this towards it.

Did it work. No need for a software update?
Are you glad you fitted it ?
I would like to get one myself but probably just trying to justify the price.

A year on from having mine retro installed, I wouldn't do it again. The sensor is not at all sensitive and suddenly decides it's too hot or cold and blasts me with hot or cold air. I spend just as much time fiddling with the 'automatic' temperature dial as I did with the manual unit. Save your money and stick with the manual.

Have to say that i agree. As I finally got changed the faulty unit to working one i'd have to say that the system is slow and dumb

Okay guys. Good to hear. I'm going to stick to the manual and block any CC thoughts that come up in my head.
