Yes, you will definitely need the adapter... unless you can find some 18-19cm speakers :wink:

which m.y. Focus are the adapters? Thank's for helping!

I am thinking about cutting a slot in the top to make a handle at the moment I am using the window switches to hold the door.
I will have a word with the dealers when it goes in next week but as long as I don't drill through any cables it should be ok.
Thanks

Thank's to Tran59 instructions, I upgrades the standard speakers in my Tourneo Custom with brand new HERTZ DCX 165. His guide was really helpful.
I can just say the screws are 8. The Hertz DXC 165 are not super top quality. But they are not expensive (53 euro including adapters), and the sound quality is much much better now, much deeper bass now. Good value for money.
I am including some pictures...

Nice job. The adapters can also be ordered from your local Ford dealer.

That E Bay link you posted above is an Italian only E Bay site and did a search for 'Ford Focus' and nothing matched any sort of adapter rings. Can you just tell me what the size / diameter of the adapters are please, so I can just order through the Ford dealership? Maybe you have a part number? :)

Going to fit mine today, got some sound deadening too, going to make my own spacers from mdf as the wood will be better than the plastic as it will absorb and vibrations etc.
Chap in my local shop said metal, plastic then metal bit that great. Plays I save 15 quid

@75214

I got the same speakers as you but they don't sound great, the bass is still rubbish. Can get the bass above middle setting on the equaliser, standard ones actually sound a bit better.

Yes, effective sound-deadening is the answer. Dynamat is by far the best, avoid cheap imitations like FatMat, which use bitumen rather than butyl and it stinks in the summer, hardens and then falls off!

With the Hertz the sound is much better than rubbish Ford one...
In any case I can't say they are fantastic...they are good value for money, my impression...
Great improvement with Dynamat as Trans59 suggest...next time:-)
