Just checked mine on etis- says 18B42. I think I will ask about getting my money back now that it’s recognised as a fault

I had this recall done on my service the other week, and I also lost my radio presets.

I paid for an oil change at 26k which is short from the "36k" service intervals which ford advertise, I'm wondering if this is now a known fault whether we could claim the money back

I had a very similar recall in August 2018
At the time I was told it was 18B14
Mine is a 2017 2.0 EcoBlue 130 ps
I posted a topic “Oil Dilution Recall on 02 August 2018
So Ford have been aware of the problem for over a year
I have no documents about it, it was all verbal, so 18B14 may not be the correct reference, but that’s what I was told
I still love my Custom
But I’m not looking forward to the poor fuel economy in cold weather because the engine never warms up
Now that the fine weather has gone I’m being plagued with misting up on the windscreen and side windows again
I was given a tip on this forum to run the air conditioning constantly (even in Winter), it helps but doesn’t cure the window misting

It would have been a problem since dot with any FI engine. My FI Tiger 800 doesn't do it, neither anyone else bike that I've heard of.
As far as I can see it's a fault that shouldn't be happening. An engine is an engine, no matter what type of fuel is being used.

Your tiger 800 doesn't have a DPF nor does it do DPF regenerations...

I had my 66 plate done the other week. When i collected the van back and they gave me a piece of paper explaining the changes that would happen from now on.
It said When the sensor detects the oils is diluted a notice on the dash will come up saying oil change required soon, after a unknown amount of miles the message will change to oil change required, after unknown miles the van will loose 25% power then 40% then 70% until you change the oil.
I asked the mechanic what the unknown miles was and he said they didnt know yet as no one had had it happen since the update . He said the lose of power is to force you to have the oil changes
me.

Yes, it looks like I read crisps post in the wrong context, thanks for correcting me.
Anyway, got my 66 plate van into the stealers today and sure enough there was a recall on it regarding this topic. Carried out under warranty so now it's just a matter of time before the DPF gets clogged up again, which will probably be out of warranty by then, so maybe a trip to Vantuner could be on the cards to eliminate that problem.

I have now had four updates for this problem the first two came with oil changes under warranty, after the third update i then got for the first time ever a message telling me that the exhaust filter was cleaning, this message popped up every eighty miles or so. The van went back to the dealer for the fourth update and the exhaust cleaning message has not been seen since, most of my work in main road and motor way with very little town work, i think a 20k oil change would suit me, 36k may be a bit optimistic.

Just got my van updated today, here in Italy.

The guy at Ford was not sure about what will change, but upon my request went to the computer and read some notes. Afterward told me that "engine power will be automatically reduced by about 30%, if the oil dilution exceeds about 15%", or something similar.

He also added the regens might be performed less frequently, but at this point he was even more vague than before.

I'll see how it goes in the next week's, especially regarding the second point he mentioned.

I registered on here ages ago and can't find log in details but new account and hi again.

Anyway, just had my mk8 xlwb 68 plate in for this recall today and also a few other issues including rising oil level which is now above maximum.....3 n half hours for a software upgrade.
On speaking to the service manager I raised my concern about the rising oil level, now as far as I'm concerned oil level above maximum causes issues with valve seals.... Correct me if wrong but this points to eventual serious issues. My vans only got 17k on it so to have this issue so early is a major concern.
But what concerns me even more is East Kilbride have 7 vans sitting at their branch all with knackered injectors that dumped fuel into sumps... And another 69 plate which basically managed 300 miles from an English branch to a Scottish branch and is now in pieces.
Ford are also seemingly bending over backwards getting courteousy vans arranged Coz their aware of these issues happening......I couldn't even get a car or van from mines.
What's everyone's thoughts on this.... Anyone else got anything to add to this Coz I've a feeling before warranties go running out that their are issues that are possibly being swept under the carpet and we're gonna pick up the bill soon out with warranty.
