That's a lot of work just to get the lights to work

Yeah you do. I guess you could connect to the jump port.

It's not a lot of hassle really. It is plug and play for around 80-90% of it.

Received the harness yesterday. It's a work of art!

I will post up some pics when i fit it all. Confident this will sort any issues!

That would be great if you post photos
Mine are off the van now. Drivers side had been playing up but on the way home the passenger side started to go on and off caused by a loss wire to the bulb. I will pop in and see them but it looks like the quality has gone down as a few on here are getting trouble

I don't think its the quality. I think the kits are drawing too much power and that causes issues over time.

Well they draw their max current at startup, once they're lit they draw less current than a 55w halogen bulb. I wonder what the startup current draw is?

It has to be higher than a halogen bulb as thats when i get the faults. Never ever when they are on, just when i switch em on!

Do you switch them on immediately that you've started the engine or once it's settled?

Try leaving it a little longer, I'm sure the surges are stronger while the charging system sorts itself out.

Mine would work ok with auto on as they would light before the engine started but played up when turning on with engine running.

I wonder if that what's buggered things? If the lights come on before you start it, don't they then go off as you start the van and then come back on?

They work fine when starting but have two battery. It's when I am driving and turn them on or the auto function turns them on .
One side has always work ok all of the time until the wire came loss but that's is just a fault. So I am hoping they can help me as the lights are great but don't need them till next winter now as I don't use the van in the evening.

Your problem seems to be with the van/install rather than the HIDS4U kit?

You can't exactly install it wrong. Without the harness they usually come on ok if I turn them on after I've pulled away. But if they don't both come on I have to stop and turn van off and on and try again. Gets pretty annoying
