Just bought the 35W 5000 kit for my Limited. Fingers crossed no issues.
I'll make sure to clean all connections during installation and add some heat shrink if necessary.
Thanks for the discount code, came to £76.00

Once you've had Xenons it feels horrible going back to halogen! Hoping these are as good as my car headlights.

yesterday I tried to install a HID 55w kit bought here in Italy from a specialized dealer (like HIDS4U in UK).

just a few flashing and then nothing more... so I contacted the seller and he will send to me a couple of adaptor to put between the lamp and the ballast, he's confident that I will fix in this way.

I will let your know ASAP

bye bye

Well I exchanged my 55w kit with the 35w kit. No issues at the moment :D obviously not as bright as the 55w but hey far better than the halogens and no issues.

Now for the cornering bulbs. Any recommendations? Want a white look like my low beam and my sidelights.

That isn't an extra adaptor, the HIDS4U ballasts have the can bus trickery inside them. The extra loom that people mention is in addition to the standard wiring so that you take the power for the HID's from a more robust feed, rather than the standard headlight feed that can't handle the startup load from the 55w ballasts.

HIDS4U have a new range of LED bulbs that may be an improvement over previous LED's?

Fitted the kit, wow - very clean looking light. Just getting the van cleaned then I'm off to the garage to check beam alignment and I'll get some pics up.

Mike,

Do you know if the inrush current from LEDs will be an issue?

The initial startup should be ok, but TBH I'm not sure if the dimming function of the cornering light will be an issue. They're sold as can bus compatible bulbs though.

HIDS4U 35W 5000K Installation

Postby C8XY » Thu Jan 28, 2016 1:27 pm

Ok guys, here's a few pics of my installation using the new 35W kit from HIDS4U.
Big thanks to Mike and the other Guinea pigs, I mean fellas :D

There's many ways of installing, but for me I didn't want the kit visible. So here's what I did.

Removed the headlights, they're secured using two T30 (torx) screws then the units simply pull up and away.

Under the headlight there's some plastic, I screwed the ballasts to this then dressed the wiring in with the loom.

Then I used a penny washer as a guide to cut out for the grommet. Perfect fit.

The original halogen lamp clip works fine, you just have to unclip it completely as the connection to the HID lamp is not removable.

Put everything back together, turned the lights on and.... No faults on the display, both HIDs running and looking great.

MOT centre has confirmed no adjustment required, beam alignment is perfect. They also said these vans align slightly lower due to the height of the headlamp which stops us dazzling oncoming traffic.

Should've said in last post, wiring colours on mine were:
Red +, Brown -

It looks like they have changed the ballast and controls to the kit I fitted from them . I had to remove mine due to faults if these work ok I think I will have to get a set
