Is the bulb now seated in the oem position now or in one of your modified positions?

180° in the opposite (modified position)

the misalignement was just related to the whole headlight not perfectly installed on the van.

PLEASE READ THIS >>> If you are thinking of buying an HID kit, DO NOT... I have had about a month of issues and investigations... Read on...

I have had HUGE PROBLEMS with the latest generation (new style) digital ballasts, bought from HIDs4U in my Limited Custom. I originally had the 55W kit using the older (chrome box) style ballasts. All was perfect for over a year, then one of the ballasts started to fail. The guys at HID's4U are BRILLIANT by the way, they have been very helpful, and sent me out a pair of replacement NEW STYLE smaller digital ballasts. These new style of ballast DO NOT agree with the CANBUS system in the Custom at all. As soon as you turn the ignition, you get a 'Dipped Beam Problem' message and the system shuts all power to that circuit. The ONLY way to get this circuit back on, is to take it to a main dealer, or somebody with a top-level ECU / CANBUS diagnostic system. The BCM (Body Control Module) required a reset to restore the power to the dipped beam circuit. The 35W new style of ballast will probably do the same.

It's a real shame because now I have no choice but to go back to standard Xenon bulbs, having been used to lovely HID, the decrease in the output is shockingly different. :/

Hope this helps people out, if you are thinking of doing it... Don't!

Just to provide some balance, I've been using a 35w HIDS4U kit in my Custom for just over 2 years without a problem. BUT DO take notice of the thread title, DON'T USE THE 55W KIT.

Mike... You must have the old style ballasts then? (larger units all in chrome colour) Did you order the 55W originally, and it caused an issue at all?

Yes I have the older style ballasts and I've always had 35w bulbs. No issues whatsoever.

I've had both sets of ballasts and the 35w/55w both failed.

Same here.Even with new slim balasts from hid4u problem was there. The only one that actually worked for me at the moment is 35w morimoto balasts and canabus cables.

I had a similar problem as you BNObournemouth! After one year of use one of ballast just stop working… At this point also my compliments to guys from hid4u! They send me new ballast for free (i am from Slovenia). But accidentally sent me 55w ballast. And I also had visit main dealer to erase error… Yesterday I received a 35w ballast and currently works perfectly.

I received the ballast with commercial name "stealth" which I have never seen before. Extremely thin and can be installed in the main light (perfect to avoid water and humidity)…

Mine are 35W and Ive been using without any issues since turning off the auto lights, I had a ballast completely fail last week and HIDS4U replaced without a problem, but Ive got the BCM issue which has cut power to the headlight. Can you tell me how much Ford charge to reset this and do they require the original halogen to be installed?
Thanks

Edit: would disconnecting the battery clear this fault or is that too old school?

Hi
I had a same problem but because I was under warranty Ford cleared error for free but someone mention here on forum that they charge around £150 if i remember correctly .And unfortunately unplugging battery does not help i had a aa coming out and they were not able to clear code.So i would advise you to go to Ford and save your self a hassle.
