Went for a compact sub doesn't take up much room. Does sound a lot better in the custom than the Mk 7 .. I changed me head unit as seen in post above so got me sub outputs remote wire etc
Ran wires round behind glove box down under the top of the step & through a factory hole in the corner of the seat passenger side.

In my mk7 standard stereo I used the high level out puts on the standard stereo & taped into the ign feed for the remote

Thanks for this... Did you feel that it wanted a sub then? Are the factory speakers total cr@p or just a bit on the low side for what you wanted? To be fair, I thought the standard speakers in the Mk7 Tranny were OK and I kept them. (only OK though, nothing more than that!)

Yeah defo needs a sub sounds crap otherwise at high volume now I've taken the bass out of the door speakers via the head unit & it sounds a lot better I will change em at some point .. like ya said the mk7 sounded okay without a sub customs don't.

Today I should have been driving my Custom home from the dealers; however I'm waiting another month :x I'm pushing for them to get me a 155 for the same price now. I'll need a faster van to make up for the month i've lost!

What mpg are you getting I'm getting 27.9ish and my ford garage say there's nothing wrong with it. It's done 6600 miles so was expecting it to be better by now but no change since I took delivery with 21 miles on it!!!!
