240V inverter

Postby TallPaul » Fri Nov 29, 2013 8:48 pm

Has anybody got the Ford power inverter by the handbrake, whats it like, would it power a 4inch angle grinder (for cutting tiles etc) or is it only suitable for charging phones & laptops?
Failing that, has anybody used these type, VKTECH 1000W INVERTER

Factory option is only ~130W so not much good for tools.

You could charge an 18vcordless drill battery off of it. Maybe power a laptop.

Does anyone if it is possible to get the 240 inverter fitted by the dealer after delivery. Mines still on order but what with a delivery date in January, I'm thinking its a late in the day to get it add as an extra. Only thought it would be useful when my battery drill went flat when I was working next to my van.

I havent taken the handbrake trim off but my guess is the wiring is already there and it'd be a pretty simple plug & play...
