Mondeo MK5 steering wheel

Postby arf33 » Mon Jan 11, 2016 12:59 pm

Hi to all...

I saw this steering wheel on a Mondeo @ dealer shop...and I really like it (much more than Tourneo standard one)

Image

I checked for "number of push buttons" and their location, seems everything match our steering wheel... my only concerns are:

- the adaptor ring of the Toruneo is 100% compatible with this steering wheel ?
- the connectors will match perfectly ?
- the axial locking shaft is the same size ?

I dind't find any previous 3d about so it seems that I'm a pioneer of this mod...if someone know something will be great!

bye

It's not massively different from the std limited steering wheel...hate to think what Ford would charge for it.....being a Pioneer is a lonely path good luck! :D

sure it's a point of view...in my side I like it much more than the LTD version I have...

just the steering on ebay is around 150€...plus airbag (unknow price at this moment)...

I will think more about this mod...surely is not in hight position in my mod list :D

Being sold by someone who has discovered it's cheaper to buy a new wheel with airbag than to just fit a new airbag.

I'm preparing my-self to this swap...I'm thinking about the airbag removal...many people suggest to disconnect the battery before do it, ok.

1- I have 2 batteries, I suppose I must disconnect both ? (one is in the engine compartment and the other one below the driver seat?)
2- someone have xperience about disconnect and re-connect the battery? what I need to do after reconnection? some recoding? the engine will start again ? radio-navi ? etc etc

thanks
Francesco

You'll need the radio code, but apart from that, it should be no problem :)
