I have recently purchased a 2018 pre-reg Limited L2 H1 DCIV, on this van the orange power socket connector was located taped to the loom behind the panelling over the OS rear arch.

Just been looking in my van for the socket but couldn't find it. Looked at the fuse box and noticed f48 only had one pin so I'm guessing the poverty spec van I have doesn't have the wiring in place. I did however notice 2 unused connectors, not aux point, clipped to the inner panel just round the corner to where the connector should be that aren't connected to anything.

I think even the “poverty spec” van would still have the “tail” on the harness, I don’t think Ford would have separate harnesses for each spec of van
It will be there, very heavily taped in a loop to the main harness, it’s got a terminal block on the end, orange I think, then you have to buy the “cigarette lighter” socket
Ford part number 1333905, available on eBay for about £10 or a non Ford part is cheaper, there are photos on this thread for the location of the “tail” , the little sucker is difficult to find but it is there and very useful once installed
Good luck

I'll definitely have another look tomorrow but did spend a good hour looking earlier using hands, mirrors and a borescope.

Really confused about the fuse point missing a terminal though. If that's not there no power will go through. Or is it not fuse F48?

Got the power socket already so good to go there.

If I can't find it though, I'll have a point fitted there by the end of tomorrow regardless

The other thing I wonder, is the earth for it one of those points above where the socket goes? If so the wires on my van are piddly little ones, maybe 5A wire at best so nowhere near man enough for a 20A feed.

The orange connector block (2pin) provides live and earth
The wires are light gauge
A “cigarette lighter” socket is probably only about 5A
The biggest appliance I plug in is a 12V cool box
It couldn’t supply 20A (imho)

I'm sure the socket is rated for 10a so can power up to 120 watts.

I actually pulled all the loom in that area out as I just couldn't find it. 3 hours later I just ran a cable from the leisure batteries to the socket in the back. Not the way I wanted it to happen but at least I have a solution now. Plus side it's permanent live at 30A which thinking about it suits my needs better.

Thanks for your help guys.

Now to try fix the broken pad wear warning system........

Hi everyone.

So I have been looking like a mad man for this orange connector block to install the auxiliary rear lighter socket.

I have taken all the panelling off and flowed every cable from ended to end and it does not exist.
I’m gutted cos I could really have done with that in the back.

Has anyone any other suggestions.

There is this spare connector but not sure what’s it for.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Transit custom sport.
2015 plate.

Has rear parking sensors which I’m wondering if the cable has been used for that instead.

Could I fit a USB instead of a power socket? What are the wiring colour codes for neg /pos on the ford connector which I assume would have to be cut off ?
This EBay USB seems to have a handy on/off switch and fast charge

Hi there,
This may have been posted before.
I have a 2015 LWB Ford Transit custom 290 LTD E, I have located the orange connector for the 12v socket.
I have purchased a socket from eBay (RS components) and connected it up today and it doesn’t work.
I really need a power socket in the back so I’m hoping it’s a fuse, looked at a page that suggested that the fuse is a 20amp (F48)power fuse located under the steering wheel.I tired a 20amp from somewhere else and it still didn’t work.
Can anyone help?

Newly registered member here. I've pulled out the orange connector and have no power to it (ignition on or off). I have a 2015 custom, is there any fuse/relay to check.

Many thanks

I have a 2015 custom base, I’ve pulled as much as I dare and I can hear what sounds like a plastic plug rattling around, trouble is I have rear wash and wipe and fear I’m pulling at something I shouldn’t be.
Also I’m fully carpeted walls n roof so removing panels is going to be difficult.
But I could really use one.

I've only just joined this forum so I know this is late. 09 high roof connect. and I found the connector. The halfords socket doesn't fit so all I have done, is made up some jump leads with the correct ends on, Just need to find the fuse now.
