DPF backwash ...

Postby mishterbond » Mon Aug 20, 2018 9:52 pm

Hi folks
I have a 2013 Transit Custom 270 Trend Etech with 155HP SWB which I bought in March with 130K'ish on the clock and FSH.
I've done about 8 K and TBH, I'm not that impressed! For an alleged 155HP, its power response is poor and the economy is appalling.
I changed the air filter with marginal improvement. I changed the oil and filter with marginal improvement.
I haven't changed the fuel filter yet and that'll be next but I know that's not the problem.
The fuel system is run through with Morris Lubricant's Morrendo DD diesel additive which I've been using for about 30 years and is an excellent product.
I've never experienced a regen, on this van or its predecessor a MK7. I live in the countryside in central France and the roads are empty, so it doesn't do any of that stop and start business if you know what I mean!
I have done extensive research into everything DPF and I'm convinced it needs to be cleaned of the ash.
So, my question is, does anyone have any experience of having their DPF removed and backwashed by one of these specialist companies and does anybody know of a company in France that offers this service?
All information and advice gratefully received.
