Hi,
I have a 2014 Ford Transit Custom which has developed a fault.
When the van is driven up hill or when accelerating off a roundabout the engine malfunction light comes on and the van goes into limp mode. I can knock the engine off and restart and the problem goes away until it has to boost again.
I have put the van into a local garage, they plugged in to their diagnostics machine. There were a few codes, 1. water in fuel trap. 2. boost pressure (i'm not sure exactly what it said).
Garage have replaced the fuel filter and got rid of water. Fault still occurred.
Used a diesel specialist next who recommended replacing the fuel pressure regulator. They said this was rusty and was probably the cause of the problem. Test drove vehicle afterwards and same fault.
I am a bit reluctant to take it back as I feel they are just going to keep replacing anything and everything to try and fix.
Does anyone have any idea on what this could be?
Thanks
Tom
