Headlight trouble.

Hi,
I'm looking for some help, I own a Ford transit custom 15plat r, today I tried to put some xenon lights to replace the old bulbs, when I put the one in for the main headlight the bulb did not come on. They are the 35w 6k type. I've checked the fuse which is ok and I've also got 16v on the plug that clicks onto the bulb, the bulb has continuity but it won't light up. I've put the old bulb back in but this also now didn't light up, bulbs fuses and power to the plug are all good so now I'm totally at a loss. Any info or advice would be very much appreciated.. many thanks
