Postby Grahamtransit » Mon Sep 10, 2018 8:01 am

Hi can any body help please
Just sold my mk7 transit trend on a 13 plate and I must say it was no trouble with the70,000 miles I drove in it
I am thinking about getting a transit custom limited lwb
3 options
Brand new model
Used with 2.0 Euro 6 engine
Used with 2.2 Euro 5 engine

Any pros and cons on the above
I have been reading about some engine problems

Any help would be great full

The 2.2 will be the same engine as the mk7 you sold, tbh apart from a few comfort and aesthetic upgrades they're more or less the same.

Is it for you? Or a work vehicle?

For me, um super lucky as I got the van with all the toys but also sat nav and both cameras, this means I have full size colour display in both the centre dash and the speedo.

The rest is just stuff.
Low base spec custom are a bit of an anti climax when upgrading from the mk7. especially a 13 plate which is as said euro5.

So, the 2018.75(ish) has the facelift and only the euro 6 option.

Depending on your budget etc I'd go full spec euro 5 limited over newer base spec euro 6. E6 is about 2016 production or a but later but obviously also depends on registration dates etc.

2.0 170ps sounds good.

I'm sure there's millions on the road trouble free.

My van 65/e5 has done 17k well, only needed an injector.
56 350 2.2 130ps mk7 with 2 side doors 8)
65 290 2.2 125ps custom with 2 side doors 8)
07 350 170ps
