Obvious answer which I told him was take it back.
He's just bought a 17 plate custom 2.0 130ps e6 adblu.
He's had it literally days and the display shows something likeadblu systen fault in 470 miles no engine start. So he bought 10l of adblu and put that in, Same, started pouring the next lot in but after a small amount it was coming out of the spout.
Warning still there.
I've read that they take 21 litres and will last about 6k miles.
But given that he only got 10.5l in I am going to say that there's a problem somewhere with wiring or doser or whatever, and given the speed at which the fault has come up, I'm going to say that potentially it is likely that the garage he bought it from already knew it was faulty, and just cleared the code before selling it?
I need to ask though, ordinarily do you fill and go? Or is there a secret ritual you need to perform after filling it to clear any warnings(seems stupid and doubtful to me )
He bought it from the same dealer I've had fun with.
I believe there may be software updates but etis shows no recalls, and if I believe my theory about them already knowing about the fault then I have to assume that they had already tried everything before clearing it and flogging it.
But if that isn't the case it'll get sorted when he takes it back.
Also the van is 11 months old, anyone tell me how a van can get part exchanged at only 11 months? Does that happen if they aren't a lemon?
