Dash cam

Did a search.

Has anyone wired a dash cam into the roof? I've got the front camera and rain sensor. Did you use the cig socket or direct power to dash cam?

I made a bracket and have fitted a Mobius to the roof of mine, I ran power up from the back of the aux socket in the top of the dash but I've got a feeling there is power somewhere inside the headlining for roof beacons? I'm sure there is on the newer customs according to the BEM but I haven't bothered looking.

Thanks, do you mean you've fitted a cig socket there?
There is interior lights and camera and rain sensor, as you say possibly beacons. Probably going to need ignition live though aren't I?

No, I got a hardwire kit for the camera, like this:
AMAZON hardwire kit
And then ran it down the A pillar to the back of the aux/cig lighter on the top of the dash, I'm sure there's something from a few years ago where Yazza was discussing how to tap into the back of the dash aux, I might even have done a few posts about it.

Ah right, cheers, I'll either get that or use the cig thing and modify it

I also have a rear camera so there's 2 recording, I also have the factory fitted rear reversing camera very there's no way to hook up to that though

I have just fitted a camera and picked up the power from the front interior light and run it into a usb socket which i mounted in the roof behind the pocket that is up there.
