Leaking rear side door opening window

Postby kazoo_u » Tue Sep 25, 2018 10:14 pm

The rear sliding door opening window on my tourneo custom is leaking a bit, it pools between the glass and the outside of the door skin. Has anyone else encountered this and how did you resolve it? Wondering it the seal can be replaced?

Is it definitely the pop-out window that's leaking? My bus had a slight water leak from the centre section of the top of the sliding door last year. I tweaked the the door strikers to pull it in a little against the seals and it's been fine since.

Thanks for this, will check again tonight but fairly sure I couldn't see anything above the window

Had another good look last night, it's definately coming through the pop out window. I've taken a few pics to show where the water is collecting.

The seal looks okay where it meets the pop out window so thinking the seal isn't sealing to the fixed part of the window.

Open the window and wipe all round the rubber seal with a wet wipe or some spirit on a rag. There might be a bit of grit causing water to sneak past the glass.

Sourced the leak to the seal between the fixed glass and the opener seal. Bought some captain tolleys creeping crack cure and fed into the seal.

Hi. How did you fix go? I assume you put the special sealant in from outside?

I have water ingress on the sliding window system on my 2018 campervan. Van has door on both sides and both windows are doing it. Curtains soaked and door cards wet.

Sealant in similar place as yours??
