Child seat in 2017 Custom Limited

Postby wild camper » Sun Oct 07, 2018 8:00 pm

Can anyone give advice on fitting a child seat to 2017 Limited with double passenger seat
It’s for occasional use by a Granddaughter aged 2years 9months
I’ve checked the handbook but it’s generic and isn’t specific for my model
I can’t establish if I have to use Isofix connection
Any make and model number used successfully would be appreciated

Admittedly, I'm not familiar with the latest Custom, but I don't think that you can use isofix in the front of any vehicle :?

I just strap the seat in to the belt, on my Mk7.

1997 Mk5 SWB 115 Minibus 70ps Di (Gone, but not forgotten!)

2008 Mk7 SWB T280 Medium Roof 85PS 2.2 TDCi - Also Vantunered

We stick the baby seat in the front all the time ours is forward facing though as it gets in the way of the mirrors If it’s in the window seat and hits the gear stick if you put it in the middle
I can get a picture if you want ?
just follow the onscreen instructions and it's fairly idiot proof...trouble is, we keep producing better idiots

Thanks Altransit and Wadey
I used Gumtree so that I could have a trial fit in the van before purchase
I’ve seen some advice on websites not to use second hand child car seats , but I think that’s promoted by child seat manufacturers
I eventually bought one owned by Grandparents that had had very little use, it’s a Maxi Cosi Tobi and it sits on the middle seat strapped in with the seatbelt. It’s easy to lift in and out and to secure it, she loves the high position in the front. It’s a bit cosy with 3 of us and the chair in the front but it works well, I’ve bought “stiff” seat belt extenders for myself and the passenger because it was a bit tight to find the seatbelt “socket” when the child seat was fitted
