Speedo types for Euro 5

Postby gregd72002 » Mon Nov 26, 2018 8:48 pm

Hi,

I've got Custom euro5 with the standard speedo (BK3T-10849-DH)
maxresdefault.jpg

But looking to upgrade it to this type:

Has anyone tried it, is it drop-in replacement?

What part number the other speed actually is?

Thanks!

I have the top spec 1 8) (lower picture).

It odd just be a case of swapping them over and configuring the software on ids.

However, you may have issue with the steering module or other.

I haven't had a play at configuring various options yet but having turned things on in my van and it having a hissy fit i have realised that more info is needed :(

I'll say 99% ok though but not impossible just the extent of parts and programming required.

I could well be :) I took the pics from the forum :P

I have got a trend Custom so all steering controls are here. I do have access to IDS too, so keen to give it a go.

I just need a cheap speedo. Are you interested in selling your? everyone has a price... ;)

 no sorry.

There will be different steering control modules I bet. No idea until programming stage whether it needs to be a certain 1. Ids will tell you though.

I must admit I do like the top level display, the little blue square 1 that is similar to the mk7 makes the van feel cheap. :(

Unfortunately no. Clusters are not a straight forward swap / plug & play. IDS/ETIS login required for installation of replacement cluster.
& IDS will only install correct calibrations (software) for vehicle spec from factory.

Second hand clusters / modules could not be reprogrammed - All you'll get is this on IDS

Fingers crossed they get around the online bit.

Paul did you ever just swap the speedo from level 1 to level 2 on a custom to see? Does it need initialization same as bcm/pcm then?

Thanks Paul, yep, I have experienced this message before. But I was able to re-program my IPC on EtisOnline. Though not sure if it will allow me to re-program a different Level IPC
