Remap problem on my 2019 custom.

Postby Martin Transit » Sat Jan 26, 2019 12:27 am

So i took my brand new custom 130ps model for a remap. The guy couldn't do it and said the ECU had been upgraded to sid212 from sid 211 and no one would now he able to remap them until a new tool is created for the new ECU! Just wondering has anyone else met this? Apparently it has just been upgraded in the last few weeks... Im disgusted!

Hello Martin. Transit
You don’t want to be remapping a brand new Transit that’s under warranty
In probability you’ll have some “teething troubles”, even if they’re minor it’ll make you nervous and hesitant about taking it back to a Ford Agent to resolveany minor problem
If you really think you need extra performance, I wanted improve low end torque try a performance box that can be removed albeit it takes me about 30 minutes to remove it to leave no trace
Mine is aCRTD4 from TDI Tuning and I’m very pleased with it , I’m not after performance, I want better torque which it gives
I’ve just bought an accessory from them for £15, a plug so I can remove the small “box” so it goes back to stock and the harness can be left in situ, it’s then barely noticeable, my van is going for warranty work soon but it’s for a problem with the sliding door so there’s no reason for them to look under the bonnet
If you wat performance and the easiest removal with no trace, try Bluefin, I tried one it too gave remarkable performance but not the torque improvement that I wanted
I got mine via Demon Tweeks, they’re very competitive and at the time were giving a free K&N filter
Demon Tweeks and Bluefin were very helpful and gave me a refund with no quibble
They even let me keep the K&N filter ( but I think that offer is finished now)
Give Bluefin try, it wasn’t for me bu you might be pleasantly surprised, you’ve only got 14 days trial though , if you don’t like it all it costs is the return postage
You need access to a laptop to communicate with Bluefin to install it, but it’s very easy

^^^ you say don't remap it, then recommend Bluefin?

Bluefin is doing the exact same thing via OBD port as the remap guys.

If there is an ECU upgrade that stops the OBD hack working, it will also stop Bluefin.

Martyn Vantuner will know...

You have to get the Tourneo if you want the higher spec & engine power - which costs a bit more!!

Nevertheless, if you want to remap why not.

If my sport came in 130pk, if would bought it and remap it. All the vans gomes to the same result after remapping:
190pk and 480Nm. And I like those numbers!

In time, mine will be remapped!

I've asket specifically about the sid212 ecu and there response was that they have done some in a s-max. And they don't see no problem to remap the new Ford transit.

So, the that gives hope :D

But first a set of 20 inch wheels is on my to buy list.

Martin, Can you send me a PM with your reg or chassis number ?
I'm trying to work out where the change between the 211 and 212 takes place.
Ecat lists 4 module part numbers with filter off, but I can't narrow the 212 finnis number as all PCM modules are listed to include nebuilds.
It would be nice for everyone's benefit to discover which models are fitted with them and why.
