I got mine from pf jones, I've not installed it yet but it comes with everything and the modules etc. About 130 quid.

You need to turn on the tow bar with ids though

I'm after a tow bar loom too...
Are they really just a simple matter of plugging it into the existing wiring, getting it coded to activate the trailer stability/reverse sensors/fog light and that's it??

I turned 2 items on in my ids config, have yet to fit the kit and I believe you need to remove the passenger step to gain access to the plugs but I'm not familiar yet, then zip tie the cabling along the body to the back, I have the 13 pin kit which will allow me to do anything, I've also got the 7 pin converter so I'm future proof, the wires need plugging in at the socket end though as they are all loose so I presume I need to feed it through a grommet I guess, I'll get around to it at some point.

i didn’t have to program anything on my 2014 limited - just plug and play. i know some have a module but i didn’t come across one under the step, just a connector

I have just fitted a to bar with dedicated wiring to my 2014 limited and you have to take of the cover to the passenger step and the trim down the side near seat belt. There were 2 plugs I had to connect to and a larger plug you just join together and stick to side using pads provided. I am also needing to know if I need to activate any modules using FORScan. Or if I need to take it to a dealer to have it coded. Fitting was quite easy and you wouldn’t know I had a tow bar if I take the removable swan neck off. I can just swing the 7 pin electric plug up behind the back bumper.

I had the 13 pin kit and did the same as you, I activated 2 items in ids for tow, plug the 2 connectors in under the passenger cover then cable tie the loom to the chassis all the way to the back then build the socket up from the instructions and it's done.

Only pisser is there's no plate supplied and that is why the socket needs making up and you have to do it like that so that when you buy the plate you can fit it. But you can buy plates that have a sexton cut out which if pf Jones or the other sellers supplied with the kit then it wouldn't need building up

I got my tow bar and this wiring loom which contains everything needed inc plate

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 2232480560

It is £100 and is a bit long but I wrapped excess round the tow bar as it is hidden behind bumper anyway.

Easy to fit, just follow fuel tank and cable tie to what you can then onto frame from there.

I haven’t re connected battery yet or connected bike rack as it was getting late.

Hopefully I won’t need to pay dealer to activate anything or code anything. Would be nice to be able to do something to these vans without having to then take it to a dealer at more cost.

Forscan can do configuration but I'm not familiar with it, have you looked at forscan for configuration options?

Yeh I had a look but to be honest I couldn’t really tell if it would do anything. Some said it does and some said it doesn’t. I have noticed this a lot with FORScan. I have lost the use of both key fob remote function after accidentally cutting a wire and my batteries going flat. Repaired wires and replaced batteries but still didn’t work so came on here. I was told to reprogram keys using FORScan but when I try it doesn’t give me the option. Thought I was doing something wrong but then someone said it would not work with a 2014 Transit Custom. Key works to open drivers door but then I need to quickly put keys in ignition and turn on to stop alarm going off. I guess I am going to need to take it to dealer to get fixed.

The keys shouldn't need to be recoded and you can't do it anyway after 2013 because the way the security works needs to go online to the Ford server, even with ids i can't do it. (Ford diagnostic software).

Configuration options can be done in sure but if you aren't familiar with it then it needs to be someone who knows.

If you need to take it to Ford on diagnostics then they charge by the hour and I'm sure sorting the keys and the tow bar configuration at the same time will fall under the hour.
Unless they have a set free for keys? :(

When you cut the wire can you be sure that you didn't short it to earth and blow a fuse?
I'd check all the fuses.

F39 main fusebox.
f1 and f2 bcm.

But check them all.

The wire I cut was just behind the drivers seat the harness that runs along the top. I cut one just before it plugs in. I did check all the fuses and made a good job of joining the wire again but when I do a scan with FORScan I get these codes
B109F - Intrusion Sensor Module

Additional Fault Symptom:
- Missing Message

B109E - Remote Keyless Entry

Additional Fault Symptom:
- Missing Message

C1D00 - Park Brake Apply Switch

Additional Fault Symptom:
- Circuit Short To Ground

Not sure what I have managed to do but all I was doing was drilling a small hole through the trim that runs along the roof for a cable to come out to go to a flip down monitor. I have converted the van to a day van and that was the very last thing I had to do. So frustrating. I will check those fuses again. Thanks

I believe f39 powers the intrusion sensor and the alarm siren. If the power is ok then the codes might relate to lin bus, that is a data bus

Check the fuses first though.

Checked fuses again and they are fine. If I use the key to open drivers door but then do not quickly put keys in ignition and turn on the alarm goes off. Not sure what the hell I have done. I was going to buy a new harness for the one I cut the wire in. See if that works.
