Forscan Codes - clear or not?

Hi

apologies for the MickeyMouse question.

Recently bought 63 plate 290 Custom. Not had a modern van before..

i have what seems to be a sensible ELM327 USB/ Forscan, which works.

When i fire it up there's loads of codes! I think I'm right in understanding that its impossible to know whether any of these are historical or current so the sensible approach is to;
1. save everything
2. clear all the codes
3. restart the van and the device/software and take a fresh scan.

any help very much appreciated..

Yes that's what I'd do.

If you list them here it might help but usually I see loads of comms fault codes and things that can be explained.

Just read photo clear run 5 mins read then clear and give it a week maybe.

That's assuming it is just proactive and not that the mil was on and it it's clearly having problems?

Yes, this is proactive/nosey/thinking it'd be a good idea to have some idea what's going on inside.

I had the yellow engine malfunction light for half an hour a couple of weeks ago (after a very enthusiastic jetwash - coincidence) but it went away and hasnt been back.

Yes - most of the codes are comms stuff, but I'll now do as you suggest. Fingers crossed
