Transit custom campervan conversion

Postby karl72 » Sun Mar 31, 2019 4:52 pm

It took a little more work than I anticipated but finally got my transit custom campervan conversion finished and I have to say I'm rather pleased with it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wr6gqGRQ2vU

Looks great !!! Just one question - I'm a joiner, my L1H1 van is fully racked including ceiling racks for saw rails, long spirit levels, sash clamps and similar - and I can't stand up in the back. I either have to hunch, or waddle in and out on my knees every time I need to get a heavy saw or other power tool from the front end when I'm parked up on a job where the side door is up against a wall or similar. Getting anything out from the van middle racks is the same. How did you deal with the lack of headroom? Great build nonetheless, well done you.

Lovely mutt btw.

Great job Karl, it looks fantastic!

What did you use to line the back doors?

Cheers

Very nice.
I'm impressed how you put it all together in a L1H1.
I'm constantly oscillating between making some form of sleeping arrangement or leaving in it as cargo space.

Is there a reason why you didn't orientate the seats/bed in other direction, i.e. next to the cab?
Could you say roughly how much conversion like this cost?

Nice job. Doing your own allows all those little tweaks to meet your own needs.
This is mine. Wanted to be able to put my bike/skis in when away on my own, but have space for wife & I in back plus carry 3; all a compromise but works.

This looks great. Where did you get the units Karl? Were they flat packed?
