Tow Bar Fitted

Postby bobtol » Sun Jun 16, 2019 10:43 pm

Hi
I have just fitted an invisible tow bar with dedicated wiring harness to my ford transit custom. Can I activate the tow bar module using FORScan and if so can someone explain how I do this, I am new to FORScan and an just getting the hang of using it. If not is there any other way of doing what needs to be done rather than take it to a dealer and being charged a fortune. It is a 7 pin wiring loom I have fitted. Thanks

Bob

It is in configuration, I'm not familiar with forscan but it should be possible.
In ids in configuration there's 2 options for tow that need turning on.
It is in the same place that the other options are like locking and speakers etc.

Alternatively what's your location as a member might be local that can help
56 350 2.2 130ps mk7 with 2 side doors 8)
65 290 2.2 125ps custom with 2 side doors 8)
07 350 170ps

Hi
Thanks I am based in Scotland. Helensburgh.
I purchased both wireless and usb versions of the elm gadget for forscan and I have not been able to do much with it at all. Should have read more about it first I guess. Cheers

Go to the FORScan website and read the tutorials on there. I sometimes use FORScan with my USB ELM adapter and it's fine. You need to get an activation code to unlock FORScan from the website else you cannot change any of the config (read only).
