I only got 8k out of my first front set of factory Goodyears, but strangely 13k out of the second set. Van's done just 21k and is now on its third set of fronts. Original rears are still good, 5mm or so. They also wear unevenly at the factory 44psi, I dropped the pressure to 40psi and they wear much better across the whole tread width.
Can't really recommend anything massively better, I've got a mate with a 70k Sport who's tried just about everything. A lot of the cheaper ones don't hold the road especially well in the wet, and what he's gained in slight wear improvements, he's lost in handling, safety and performance. I'm personally sticking with Goodyears because they're a known quantity.
Thanks for the reply...
I’ve only covered 24k and about to replace the fronts for the 3rd time and the tears for the first time.
I carry a lot of weight in the van... refrigerant bottles etc.. have tried all pressures, currently on 48psi
Think I’ll stick with the Goodyear’s, they handle great so will just have to bite the bullet
