Will my Transit tell me when it’s due a service.

Hi my 2.2 2014 combi is about to head off on it holiday.

I know these are on higher interval oil service. But will it tell me when it’s due it’s oil service ?

I know it was serviced when I bought it 15k ago book stamped by main dealer and I want it done when I get back.

But just reading the European recovery and it states must be regularly serviced etc.

It’s had its MOT recently tried reading the handbook but confused me even more.

Yes it will but if you change the oil & filter you cannot reset the service indicator till it comes on my van gets oil & filter every year even if it does less then 6000 and never over 10000 I don’t care that modern oil is supposed to do silly mileage you can’t beat a regular oil change

Oil changes are still to be done at least yearly if you are not doing the 18k mileage

Ford's recommended 24k oil change intervals are pure insanity. I've always changed my oil every 6k and it still comes out looking like sludge.

Interim (check) service every 12 months or 12k, main service (fluids etc.) 24 months or 24k whichever comes first.

Once had an aa man cheeping on that the service light was on my a6.

After showing him the fully stamped service book to its last service at 144k and pointing out we’d done nearly 3k in 3 weeks ... add to that it was on the variable service plan ! he indicated he would plug it into his laptop in!

How bad is sump tray to drop ? Got an hour or 2 on wed before we go!

I could suck it out at local garage but i always think it can’t get all the crud at bottom of the sump.
