Oil pump replacement.

Postby 747_727 » Fri Aug 16, 2019 4:11 pm

Hi chaps. I’m looking for some advice as I haven’t been able to get any on the for ranger forum. I’m looking to buy a ford ranger 2.2, but they haven’t issued a recall for the oil pumps, I’m just seeing if anyone knows what I should be looking at roughly to have one replaced as a precautionary measure?

I think early euro 5 transits 2012 had the recall but that's done now.

Have you done a check on etis to see if the ranger you want has any recalls? You can also ring Ford and ask.
Whether they'll bull sh*t you is another matter though but etis doesn't lie.

Ford do not recognise it as a problem on the ranger even though it’s very common for the oil pump to fail, apparently there were recalls on the customs. I really like the ranger, but would want to get the oil pump replaced as a precautionary measure.
