Rhino pipe tube

Postby apollogary » Mon Mar 16, 2020 8:20 pm

Hi

Pretty much my first post on here.

I picked up a new LWB custom a week ago. It has the folding roof bars.
I'm a plumber, so have bought a Rhino pipe tube
Today I tried to fit it, but the "universal" fitting kit that comes with it, doesn't fit the Ford bars

I spoke to Rhino, but they said there are no other fitting kits available and they'd never heard of a problem before.

Surely I can't be the first person to try and fit this

Anyone else come across this problem, and if so how did you fix it?

Thanks

Gary

Hi Gary. Did you ever sort this? I’m experiencing the same problem myself. Can’t seem to find anything to fit the rhino tube into the new shape folding bars

I had this issue when trying to fit my tube holder on to van guard ulti bars. The bars are a different shape to normal. I literally hammered the fitting brackets into a shape that would work. It’s done the job for me, never come off and as solid as a rock

I did kinda fix it. I got some Joist hanger brackets, Wickes/B&Q.. . The long part I drilled 2 holes in and could attach the rhino fixing bracket to, but rotated 90 degrees. The short part I drilled a single hole and mounted to the pipe tube. Painted the brackets black. Looks ok and I could still use the plastic clip on covers. Only thing is it makes the tube sit a bit higher than it would normally. Cant believe that Ford or Rhino can't address the problem and come up with something though
