engine service now light

Hi further to my post about the 12v outlets and interior light, I checked the fuses one by one in the passenger side fuse box all good. However when I went to start the van its now saying engine service now and hill start assist need service. The key goes in and turns but a tone sounds and the messages come up.,. I cannot move the van or get it to a garage. Has anyone had this happen, if so how was it fixed. Cheers

If that’s what’s happened since you’ve checked fuses,you’ve almost certainly put one or more back in the wrong place.
There’s one in particular about half way up left hand side of fuse box that will cause this for certain.....

Hi Any idea which one, I will check today. Surely you should be able to replace a fuse without this happening.

Is that one of the j fuses or just the small ones.

You said you checked fuses,not replaced any...
Replacing,or checking a fuse will not cause this.
Removing one from its correct position,and putting it back in the wrong place will ......

It’s a small normal type fuse 5 amp I think,roughly middle of fuse box extreme left,
It’s on it’s own,but,there are 2 spaces there,put it in the wrong one which is empty,and you’ll get your fault.
It’s fuses 13 and 14 in the passenger fuse box.13 is not used,14 is.

You were spot on. I had put the 5amp in the next hole down. Just moved it and it works!!

Hi Frag Sorry to pick your brain again, but my original post was asking about 12v sockets not working, I checked the fuses 49 and 47 and the other one, all good , also interior and load bay lights don't work, fuses good, any ideas, is there a pr fuse anywhere. Cheers.

Check fuse F13 in the body control module fuse box,the one to the right of steering wheel.
It’s the 2nd fuse down from top in the right hand row.15A

Will do, How is the lockdown going are you in the UK. We are in France. i am still OK to work but paper work is needed. I let you know if your advice works. I'm not sure quit sure how to get to the fuses, its very difficult to see without doing extreme van yoga.

Have you checked them since you replaced that last fuse ?
And with the ignition on ??

That fuse that feeds interior lamps,(and Data link connector)also powers the aux socket relay,the sockets then fused individually through the 2 fuses you had checked.

Today I had the stability control light come on and it also said hill start assist was unavailable. Everything seems fine with the van. I have turned the stability light off by un doing the battery with the ignition off. But the engine service light and waring is comes on. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
