windshield wash bottle removal

Postby sly57 » Mon Jun 15, 2020 9:05 am

Hi,
My windshield washer has stopped working. I have located the fuse number F6 below the steering column behind the removable panel and it has not blown.
So, i want to remove the wash bottle and check the pump before looking at a fault stalk.

What is the correct way to gain access to the wash bottle? I have looked from underneath the vehicle and from the engine compartment, but i cant see how to remove it.

Any help would be appreciated.

My van model is the 2016 custom 270 eco tech

You can access the pump (And it’s connector)under osf wheel arch, don’t need to remove the bottle.

I got the shroud of covering the pump, cleaned all the crud away as best as i could for now. As i pulled the connector off the motor, if brought the motor out with as well, full of water. There appears to be a rubber shroud left inside the motor housing, so im guessing that my motor is fubar.
Tried the screen washer whilst it was out and it ran for like 2 seconds then stopped, Fuse F9 didnt blow, it is still intact. So i guess its a new motor?
Also, should there be much resistance when blowing down the hose that leads to the jets?

I have attached photos so you can see whats what!

The rubber shroud is what holds pump in the tank and if not split doesn’t need replacement just push new pump in as long as it seals it’s ok.
