Out of curiosity, after only 8000 miles, today I tried draining the fuel filter water trap. On my Custom 130 2019, this is a black plastic assembly with a drain tap and stub tube, mounted just behind the LHS front wishbone rear rubber bush. I fitted a clear plastic pipe to the stub and opened the tap. What I expected was a continuous stream of liquid: first, water, if any, followed by fuel. What I got was, perhaps, a drop of water, a drop of fuel, so I continued to open the tap until fuel started to leak from the threads, and then closed it again.
Is this normal? Is there something inside the bottom of the filter which separates the water so fuel does not come out, or is my filter drain blocked?
