2014 Custom cruise control fault.

Good evening everyone.
I seem to have a strange issue with tyre cruise control on my van.
The cruise control works fine without any issues in every gear except 6th, as soon as I select 6th and activate the cruise, the speed displayed blanks and shows dashes/lines.
I've looked in the manual at the instructions and searched the Internet to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated.

Changed the wheel/tyre size ?

I don't know but that's a good call!!
Is there any where online that would tell me the build spec as to what the correct tyre size should be.

I’m sure someone also changed the final ratio on the box (swapped box) and there was similar issues, but it does sound like the wheel speed in 6th doesn’t match what the module expects it to be and shuts it off.

I have a similar problem with my mk8 changed the Crown wheel and pinion from 3.1 to 3.7 and now Cruise control doesn’t work but the speed limit does the Speedo is correct showing three mail 3 miles slow as it always did had it into ford and they haven’t got a clue when you find a solution I will be interested cheers.

Change the BCM config ? Same as any older models really.

Cheers Dan unfortunately I’m an old school fitter ok on m mechanical side of things bit limited on the computer side I got a Elm but was worried about fiddling about with that side of things my last two jobs had their own auto electricians and they kept all their secrets to themselves so got left behind on that side of things.

What software are you using to change the BCM config?

I'll have a look at the van this week at some point, hopefully it's just the wrong tyre size.

Wrong tyre size can't be the cause: the speedo get's his info from the ABS sensors. The Cruise Control compairs this Info against the RPMs at a given gear.
Tyre size would change both quantitys to the same extent.
The only explanation is that there is an inconsistency between the two numbers. As there would be when the gearing is altered.
