Can anyone help? I have a 2018 Transit Custom with the 2.0 Euro 6 engine. I've had it from new - 40,000 miles - full service history - used as a much cherished camper van. I live in Germany and it's a German spec. Recently the engine has been running hot - just under the 120 degrees mark. Fan always on. Occasionally, the gauge-needle shoots beyond the 120 degrees mark and it goes into limp-mode. After about 10 seconds, the gauge needle drops suddenly and it comes out of limp mode. There is definitely Co2 in the. coolant. It's not losing coolant that I can detect. No water in the oil. No oil in the coolant. My Ford dealer says its a known problem and the only fix is a new engine - £10,000. He says the block is cracked. Ford, obviously, don't want to know. I cannot afford £10,000. Can anyone help?
