Wheel nut sizes

Afternoon all....

Hit a massive pot hole on Saturday in my 2018 custom and smashed the wheel rim. Got home OK in the end but have had a right old rigmarole on the spare and wheel nuts.

So.....

Alloys have some specific fitting nuts. The are Velare 20 inch VLR-T.

I put spare steel wheel on 16 inch with a much taller tyre and used the nuts from the alloys as that was all I had. 10 miles down the road knocking from that wheel...so put the alloy back on and took it easy.

Gave my reg to a company and ordered some stock wheel nuts and they no way fit properly. 4 out of 4 are only threaded half way and the one that has a full thread sits very proud of the steel wheel.

My question is how far should the cone of the wheel nut sit into the wheel on a stock 16 inch wheel and does anyone know what wheel nuts I need to keep in the van in case of a problem again.
