gear change grinding

Hi Everyone,

I have a Transit Custom Sport ecoblue, it has just developed an issue of grinding when going from third gear into fourth when shifting up and fifth gear going into fourth when shifting down.

The van only has 15300 miles on the clock, I have tried double clutching when changing gears and sometimes this works but most times it doesn,t, van is only 20 months old, it does not work hard on a day to day basis.

Has anyone experienced this or does anyone know what could the issue be?

The van’s still under warranty, head straight back to a Ford main dealer.

booked in today at ford dealership, I will send an update once I get some news

So it turns out that the synchromesh plates were worn and had started to damage the teeth on 4th gear.

Fourth gear cog replaced, new synchromesh hub, carried out a check on the high pressure fuel rail sensor and also a confirmation check on the injectors after the recall for faulty injectors.

The good news is it was all covered under Ford Warranty.
